Care

To keep your silk item looking beautiful and lasting longer, follow these care tips:

Silk doesn’t require frequent washing like synthetic fabrics, as it naturally wicks moisture and has antimicrobial properties. Instead of washing it often, try spot cleaning and airing it out. Since silk is a breathable, natural fibre, this method will help extend the time between washes.

1. Hand wash:

Place the silk product in cool water. Use only specialist silk detergent. Non-specialist detergents often contain harsh chemicals that can damage the color and finish of silk garments. Avoid stain removers.

Swirl the garment for a few minutes, ensuring thorough cleaning.

Rinse with cool water until all detergent is removed.

2. Do not machine wash:

We don’t recommend you wash in this way, but if you think that it is necessary, so these are our tips:

Place the silk item inside a mesh laundry bag.

Choose a gentle ‘hand wash’ and set the temperature to cold not over 30℃ without spin. Use only specialist silk detergent.

3. Drying:

Lay the silk flat on a clean, dry towel.

Roll the towel and silk together to remove excess water.

Dry horizontally on a flat surface.

Avoid hanging, as wet silk is delicate and can stretch.

Avoid exposure to sunlight – there is a risk of fabric fading.

4. Ironing:

Use a pressing cloth to avoid direct contact between the iron and the silk.

Iron on a low setting while the silk is still slightly damp.

5. Dry cleaning:

Professional dry cleaning is a great option for silk products.

Choose a reputable dry cleaner experienced in handling silk fabrics.
